Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R,C,I,Ref-Brooklyn, Staten Island) and the Owl’s Head Park Volunteers will host two spring cleanups at Owl’s Head Park. The first cleanup will be at Sprinkler Park on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the second at the Overlook on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
“Each year, the wonderful volunteers of Owl’s Head Park host spring cleanups, creating a sense of community and a cleaner beautiful park for all. People can really take pride in the fact that they went out and got together and did something positive for the city. It is so important we keep our parks and recreational areas clean, not only for the beautification of our community, but for the environment and our wildlife. That’s why I am proud to sponsor these two ‘greenups’,” said Malliotakis.
“We are so happy that Nicole responded to our needs to beautify the Park, and we are so grateful that Nicole’s Office came to our rescue for the Parks permits and required insurance to have Yoga Classes at Owls Head Park this summer,” said Susan Frances, Community Liaison for Owls Head Park Volunteers.
This cleanup is open to the public and volunteers should meet at the park house across from 68th Street and Bliss Terrace before 10 a.m. to help the Owl’s Head Park Volunteers remove leaves and weeds from the gardens of Sprinkler Park and Overlook.
