As New York City enters Phase 1 today, Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R,C,I-Brooklyn, Staten Island) is offering free, 3-ply ear loop face masks to small businesses with 15 or fewer employees. Malliotakis has pledged to donate 2,500 masks to assist small businesses that are struggling financially, and may have difficulty securing masks following the COVID-19 shutdown.
“Our small businesses have endured tremendous financial difficulties as a result of coronavirus,” said Malliotakis. “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and it’s up to us to help facilitate as smooth and efficient re-openings as possible. I am eager to help provide these masks so our small businesses can operate safely without the burden of locating and securing masks they otherwise might not be able to.
Businesses interested in obtaining a box of 50 masks should contact Malliotakis’ office at 11 Maplewood Place, Staten Island, NY 10306, (718) 987-0197, [email protected]
